Welcome to Cima
The Center for applied medical research (Cima) of the University of Navarra was inaugurated in 2004 with the mission of carrying out a translational research of excellence oriented to the benefit of patients and society. Its vision is to be an international reference center in biomedical research.
As a research center of the University Hospital, Clínica Universidad de Navarra, its scientific objective is to address current clinical problems and propose the most effective treatment for each patient. In its endeavor to transfer the results of the basic research to the clinical application, Cima has a Translational Science and Innovation unit that seeks to establish partnerships with biotech and pharmaceutical companies to facilitate the advent of scientific discoveries to the patients.
Research at Cima is multidisciplinary, carried out by teams of professionals from various fields (biologists, biochemists, pharmacists, engineers, doctors, laboratory technicians, etc.). In this context, in collaboration with Clínica Universidad de Navarra, synergies with others professionals from other centers in the biomedical and technological campus of the University of Navarra, as well as professionals from the Hospital Complex of Navarra and Navarrabiomed are promoted within the framework of the Health Research Institute of Navarra (Idisna).
Since 2017, Cima has the status of University Research Institute of the University of Navarra. As part of this academic institution, it shares its vision, mission and values. Professionals at Cima contribute, in addition, through their specific activity to the training and lecturing activity of all centers of the University.
